What kind of subs, exactly?
TXT based or ETSI?

Whatever, the stream carrying the subs would have to be included, similar to the PID recorder module.

And the client would have to extract and decode those, using TXT module or codec depending OSD interface procedure to show.
Inserting to the video stream instead won't be a good idea, as this would require a full on-the-fly transcoding procedure, eating huge resources.
