I have installed the x3m spc1000 DVB-S pci tuner card which came with ProgDVB 4.something and the LNB values were requested and I don't know these so i downloaded progDVB 6.06.04 and dotnet 3.5 and service pack and read the manual 5 or 6 times but the setup is requiring very specific information which is not listed in the manual and I can't find it elsewhere. Which card should be selected for the device list ? The ones I am trying to choose (PCI Satellite TV, or DVB-S ) show green in the DiSEqC settings but they have a red X in the Device List. Then I try to add the LNB and there are several fields which should be filled in.
In general, the setup appears to be taking too long and this is probably going back to the store. I bought a a set top satellite receiver and the LNB values were somehow automatically filled in and it works without having to spend several hours on the installation.
Perhaps there is another program easier to use ?
Card works but which LNB values ?
#3Selecting Bda appears to work for the card but the software still needs the LNB values...Not sure what these are

The LNB is a piece of real hardware, residing on the arm of your dish.
This so called Low Noise Block consists of a feed horn, to collect the RF energy that's focussed onto it by the dish, and a converter stage, that reduces the satellite frequency bands from above 10 GHz to a lower range from 950 to 2150 MHz, to allow to transport the band through a long cable run, down to your tuner.
This conversion is done by use of a local oscillator, that is switched between two values (by use of the 22kHz control signal), as the Ku band range is to wide, to fit between 950 and 2150 MHz in one.
LOF means Local Oscillator Frequency, represents that values of your LNB.
The switch value determins a frequency, above of which the switching to the higher band is to be done.
For European market standard "Universal LNBs" (regardless of being single, twin, quad, octo, whateverelse), the default values of ProgDVB are correct.

installed ProgDVB 6.24.01
#5Thanks for the reply. Have installed ProgDVB 6.24.01 and tried again however not sure where the problem is. The Manual located at
http://www.progdvb.com/manual.html has screen shots that do not correspond to what I see. Is there a more recent version of the manual which corresponds to 6.24.01 ?
On the Device page I have DVBS device Green and enabled.
DiSEqC Settings shows Switch -> Astra 1C and Astra 2C
ProgDVB shows 52% and 1% under All Channels but there is no picture.
Not sure what to the next step is.

#6What switch???x3m wrote: DiSEqC Settings shows Switch -> Astra 1C and Astra 2C
Does this really represent your existing dish system?
What satellite position are you heading towards?
Astra 2C is positioned at 31.5°E now.
Astra 1C should be off duty meanwhile. Or do you mean Turksat 1C, which is at 31.5°E as well?
We must be sure to talk about the same position(s), else no way to help you...
If in doubt, look at satcodx.com
For your LNB(s), if made for Europe, LOF settings should be as follows:
LOF 1 = 9750 MHz
LOF 2 = 10600 MHz
Switch = 11700 MHz
However, please give people FULL details on your dish setup.

You can still use 32bit versions of ProgDVB.
However, as you told, the manufacturer uses ProgDVB as original software, there is a high chance, they've included a special device file and default settings with that one.
This for, the manufacturer would also be the only one, that could provide a 64bit device and drivers for his hardware.
On BDA driven hardware, (along with the drivers) the device file is responsible for DiSEqC and similar options.
