Automatic Recording and Converting

#1
I will ask directly here, because I couldn't find all answers in the FAQ:

Is ProgDVB providing me with the Features ?

1. automatic EPG-Data-Import
2. recording of regular (automatic programming) broadcasts on SAT-TV due to EPG-Data
3. recording of overlapping broadcasts on the same Transponder
4. integrity-check of recordings
5. automatic editing of commercials
6. converting of recordings in a different format, i.e. XviD or H.264
7. integrity-check of conversion
8. deleting of original-recordings (MPEG2-Data) when conversion to a different format was successful

As you can see, it's a common sequence of a Recording-Converting-Workflow.
I hope my idea isn't set to high and hoping to get answers.

Is ProgDVB able to do that already ?
If not, is it possible to teach it to ProgDVB ? What is needed for that ?

PVAStr8umento can (only) do this automatically, if audio or video mode changes then. Else there's no known way, to automatically detect commercials, except for a theroretical chance, to watch a visible channel logo, if that changes in any way. But even then, f.e. german stations include preview spots with the commerial breaks, that do include the same logo as when playing movies.
They simply don't want us, to prevent from watching their commercials in any technical way, 'cause that's what they live from...
And in future they will try to introduce special 'certified' receivers, that won't even allow you switching away during commercials, nor even jumping forth at playback time, if using a HDD receiver of that kind.

There may be some internet services available, that provide such functions in (close) real time, but of course they also use man power as a source...
No idea, if any of that services still active these days, as the providers use to fight against those with all they have...

please take my (feature-) question more as an idea to go into that direction in the next time to result in a one-click-solution for recording and archiving satellite-tv.
Commercials could be cut out (nearly) automatically in a community-project, where people exchange edit-logs of their recorded broadcasts to import these into ProgDVB and ProgDVB does the cutting job therefor.

Reprocessing of any kind is not a ProgDVB issue, sorry.
This can't be done in (close) real time without a terrible lot of man power, obviously. Tons of people required, to watch each and every station permanently, create some cut marks and spread them...

In fact there are / were some projects like this, but that's far off topic now.
And reworking is not depending on ProgDVB, almost similar when using any other DVB recording capable software.

Perhaps look after the VDR project, at least they can (create and) use cut mark files, AFAIK. Should even be possible to import such in PVAStrumento (stupid cross platform thinking of mine...).

But I can't help any further on this, sorry again.
Too much for one or any small group, I'm afraid.
