What's up,
I'm a new ProgDVB user, i'm using 5.09.2.. I'm trying to put my Timeshift buffer to be in Memory instead of HD but it crashes when i select the Memory option.. anybody know how can i fix it ?
I have 3 giga ddr2 ram and my computer is great.. my sat card is sky star 2

Thanks for your answer, But I tried Memory option on ProgDVB 4.85.3 and it gives me "OUT OF MEMORY" error when i set memory more than 511.. although i have 3 giga memory... how can i fix this ? I really dont want buffer on my HD , i have a lot of ram

I don't know the optimal size of the buffer. I have enough RAM so I tried to set a bigger buffer. It works fine with 200 MB also.Porter wrote:why need so big bufer???

Timeshift buffer size relates with the duration you want to buffer.
Normal mpeg2 transmissions would eat around 1.5 GB per hour, TS based even more.
So, for example, if one wants to go back / watch delayed for half an hour, it would be necessary, to have more than 512 MB...
These days, most modern computers in fact have far more than 512 MB of RAM.
And only Win98(SE) has limitations, that normally don't allow more than 512 MB of RAM (to be used). But even this can be patched to slightly above 1 GB, and Win9x isn't supported any more, anyway...
