For some weeks, Progdvb has been testing a new PIP format.
In this last version 6.87.2, PIP works very bad: can freeze program easily.
I´m too tired of those experiments and weekly updates. Things much more important are not fixed.
About PIP some things I cant understand:
1- I have six cards various brands, so six RCs, and any of them have a PIP key. So why when we call PIP, by keyboard and mouse, it calls a Remote Control list channel? Keyboard in left hand an RC in right hand??? Isnt it better to just disable all PIP actions by RC? For some years I dont use shit PC RCs, I use heavenly wireless microsoft mouse...

2- My computer cant play more than two HD channels at same time. With two HD channels CPU goes to 70% use (in a good version, this lasts crash Progdvb soon...). HD channels are day by day more common. So, why more than two PIP windows (a big and a small)? Isnt two enough? Will we have to buy a 700W PC machine to play Progdvb? A dvb receiver costs from US$ 90 here, and uses 25W maximum...

Do somebody have more oppinions about this above?

1. This is like "hint" for user for select new channel. Black rectangle looks not good.

2. Most video cards not support more then 2 DXVA windows. But 4-6-8 channels at once not problem for modern CPU.

For me, PIP bugs are in front of eyes, no need for logs.
Try open 3 PIP mpeg SD windows;
Try open 2 h264 SD windows;
Try open 2 HD windows;
Try change channels, look the CPU usage too.

It seems I'm the only with PIP problems, so will not spend my time and bother you more with this.

Of course I am many time open 3-4 PIP windows when test this function. And not have any problems on my PC. Of course you need power PC, because video decoder not help for PIP.

Also you can try change video renderer. Custom EVR request many video ram.

You can record video by HyperCam or same software for show your problem.

ps: Please test on free channels at first.

I did wonder this myself and thought it would only be useful if it showed you a list on channels on the same transponder which you could pick for a PIP with your current channel. I think as it is at the moment it is only useful for dual tuner cards.

I also use DVB Dream and I am not saying everyone should go buy DVB Dream but it has an excellent PIP system.

Have you tried CoreAVC HD codec? I run ProgDVB on an Atom based PC without problem even HD with HD PIP.

Do you have same video renderer in dream?
Video of problem still interesting.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. Yes I use "Video mixing renderer 7" and as far as I remember you have no option to set a demultiplexor.

Try vmr9 also. But less quality afaik.

I tried version 6.87.5, about PIP and video problems.

1- I found that the high CPU use is a issue of timeshift. Disabling timeshift makes the CPU use 3 times higher, no matter what codec or renderer.

2- The PIC in PIC mode now works good up to three small windows. A fourth (or more) window opens, but is hidden; and after the third PIP the cpu use rises as a rocket... So, seems better to limit the Pic in Pic mode to 3 windows...

3- The table mode allows 6 SD pip windows running smooth; in the 8th pip window here system crashes.

Using Win 7 32 bits; TBS 6925; Radeon 4550 video card.

Sorry I don't get the point or what you are trying to say. Your post can be taken many ways!

As I have said before I love ProgDVB but I also use DVB Dream IMO neither of the programs are perfect, that's why I use them both. I get good PIP with DVB Dream on my slow Atom based PC.

Full screen plus 11 PIP's

The full screen image is there but did not show on capture.

You can select same codec and render in ProgDVB. This is most part of CPU using. But I think impossible really playback 11 normal channels in Atom. You can try playback 11 files at first
