Hello
I have got a Nova-s Plus from Hauppauge.
I can't get this card to work with progdvb.
Everytime i start the program there is an error:
Device not started
If i try to select a device from the list the program
crashes with an error. This error comes up for all versions > 4.6x
Is this card supported? Any chances it will be?

this card is running with bda drivers ...so you have to choose one of the bda devices...nothing else...
if you don´t have a bda (dvb-s) device :
save this as ´bda.reg´ and execute it to get the missing devices....

Yes , this problem exsits (for some users) since some progdvb versions...reason is afaik unknown...try other dvb software...
no go for me
#6I too have a NOVA-S-Plus and cannot get the card to view or tune any channels with ProgDVB. I have managed to start the prog and made the registry entry (which just gave me double entries for the model!). Still I get no channels when I scan. (I am no expert!)
To make the card be recognised I had to use an old version of the prog.
I have had terrible trouble with the supplied application WinTV2000 crashing at the slightest thing.
Sort of made better by completely reinstalling WindowsXP with nothing else installed and then not tuning to any high power satellite as Astra 2 28E crashes it all the time. I assume it is an overload problem.
Anyway this prog was my last hope! I have just donated $20. It would have been more but the PayPal system seems to only let me give you $20!.

My 2cents
I have Technotrend (TT) S1500 Budget PCI card which is said that is identical with the Hauppage Nova PCI card.
I've just bought the card and I have no experience with SatTV.
I installed the software from TT website for TT-PCline budget family card
from : http://www.technotrend.de/english/downl ... nload.html
After that, I installed the ProgDVB and I choose Nova PCI device from the Device List.
It worked without any issues. I did not even know that I have to install any BDA drivers.
In the WindowsXP “Device Manager” I saw that the driver I installed is a network driver: TechnoTrend DVBsat PCI budget Adapter.
I do not know if Hauppage software is identical with TT or if Nova card works with TT software. Try to uninstall the BDA drivers before you install the network driver.
I hope it helps.

@Wumbel:
I got a Hauppauge NOVA-SE2 witch i think is the same Model as the NOVA-S-Plus (without Hardware Mpeg).
Well, i dont know if this works for you (but it worked for me):
Install the newest BDA-Driver from Hauppauge (http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/de/88x// ... 1_whql.exe).
Open regedit, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Tuning Spaces\
You should have several entries here, from 1 to 8, an if you made what SiLencer sayed, the entries 42,43 and 44.
Delete the entries (folders) 42, 43 and 44.
Look in the folder 7 there should be some entry with DVB-T, you can also delete this folder (on my machine ist was the 7).
This worked for me with Progdvb 4.80.5, maybe you have to reinstall Progdvb (select no start device to have no errors at startup), in Progdvb open Settings -> Device list and select "{BDA} DVB-S Tuning Space Entry".
Maybe this helps, as i sayed, it worked for me.
