Technisat have now removed this card from the product range on their Websites www.technisat.com and www.technisat.de.
They have finally admitted that it does not meet the specifications
as were laid out on their box or website.

Skystar HD Win 2000 problems??????????
#6Hi
This is very interesting - though I run Win XP and XP/MCE - I have 3 brand new Skystar HD with CI modules for sale here in New Zealand.
So for each sale now I can offer Win XP Cd for user only having Win 2000.
Where is full info link url available to read on the problems with Windows 2000 running this card and its software - which version - or all?
It seems to me if the card/programme is runnig with XP fine then it should also run with Win 2k.
Also surely it is a software issue?? But if Technisat pull the card of course they must know what they are doing. This is a serious matter for anyone who owns these cards, as the perception in the market will be that this card maybe has less value for resale - also as this now has made the card a superceded model this is bad for resale value of SS HD maybe!???
Such thing must be viewed in context - as many users will know, the card manufacturers often will change the card to make their own economy and profit greater - not for the benefit of the user. Like the SS1 CI - such DVB-S card is still a very good card - and even used one now is RARE and maybe worth more $$$$ than when first sold brand new!!
Please answer where to view SS HD problems in Win 2k ?????

Hi,
Yes I would like to know just the basic errors you had with the card - personally I would have just changed the OS. email is k.miers@woosh.co.nz
I know a lot of people like Win 2k but lets face it you need to change up sometime!! XP is really just an upgrade on Win 2k - no big deal!!
Most Win 2k programmes will run under XP without a hitch.
I have great confidence in technisat - I think their cards and software are very solid. I know most are Technotrend / Twinhan but they are generally well made and marketed and the software is VERY solid. Go easy on them - they don't get it wrong often!
I still have 3 x HD CI to sell - but I believ they are good - not running under Win 2k is not much problem for me!!
I can post you a validating copy of Win XP.
Need postal address and name of course!
As long as you will sleep OK?
cheers Ken
