There's no parental control in ProgDVB, but you can edit a channel's properties, set false V and A IDs, set to not update.
That might keep some kids away from watching a channel.
Also perhaps think about a multi user system and user restrictions, f.e. with separate (and different) ProgDVB installations inside of the personal folders ...
It's also possible, to run ProgDVB from a removable drive (read/write mode), like a memory stick or alike. Recently I even successfully started ProgDVB from the memory card inside of my camera...
Just have the record folder(s) and (if necessary) timeshift file located on a usual HD place.
