i have a problem with a nvidia codec graph.
if i play a dvd i have 30% cpu utilization.
if i need nvidia purevideo in progdvb i have 80%

if i record a video in progdvb as mpeg2 or ts an play this, i have cpu 30%.

whats wrong ?

how can i use the nvidia purevideo corect, that i have 30% cpu utilization on dvb-s ?

if i set "by codec" i have in dvb-s 30% but its no audio and video.

However, you should try to build a custom graph, optimized for your machine.
And check all the settings of your codec. Perhaps some detailed settings are only available from outside of ProgDVB, like from WMplayer or even from system control.

Additionally, any networking related issue could even interfere with DVB life picture, as the data are streamed from a virtual networking device, to your CPU and codec. So, for example some firewall settings may cost performance.

Maybe you can get some basic hardware support from your VGA, if activated in the codec's properties.

All just theory, as I am using a hardware card here.

In most cases, CPU load readings are NOT reliable, as they may show repetitive short peaks in the same way as a true continuous load, or weigh in a not specified way. So, from % readings only, you don't get reliable information on the real CPU load, at all. And no details on which part of (north bridge or) CPU really carries that load, like FSB, I/O devices, cache, FPU, whatever component else...

wenn ich einen aufgezeichneten stream in windows mediaplayer abspiele habe ich eine cpu auslastung von ca. 15-25% erzeigt cyberlink codec an. wenn ichs umstelle bei nvidia purevideo auch so um die 15-25%. bei dvd um die 30-40%.

beim tv, egal ob powercinema,progdvb,wintv anwednung immer so cpu auslastungen an der grenze. wie kommt das und warum nimmt er wenn ich nen cyberlink oder nvidia graphen erstelle die grafikkarten beschleunigung nicht ?

As you told other DVB applications also have a higher CPU load, this is not a ProgDVB issue (only).

Do you use timeshift, or did you disable this on install time? Try another install into another folder, without timeshift, try again.

Hardware support for codecs depends on codec, VGA card and it's driver. Efficiency of this depends on the VGA card's hardware. The VGA driver should be (re)installed or updated after all others.

Codec's internal settings are important, as they may include ressource hungry post processing.
I did already mention networking as a source of interference and rising system load.

Interrupt sharing may even cause performance problems (beneath other issues). If in doubt, temporarily deactivate or remove suspicious components to compare.

Also there are some DVB specific patches you may need from Microsoft. All available DirectX updates patches should be included.

after install the newest nvidia driver i have 50-60%. its better now
