This is my first post. I have been trying out ProgDVB with my FlyTV card to watch digital transmissions from the Emley Moor Trtansmitter here in the UK.

Initially I could only detect a very few channels. It turns out that the spec' for digital tv in the UK allows for a frequency offset of +/- 167 Khz.

The preset channels in Prog DVB do not take into account this offset and does not find all the channels.

The solution is to do a manual transponder scan entering the frequencies including the offset.

I only have the offsets for the Emley Moor Channel set but this may help others.


Channel 40 - Frequency 626 - manually enter 625833 KHz in the frequency box.
Channel 43 - Frequency 650 - manually enter 649833 KHz in the frequency box.
Channel 46 - Frequency 674 - manually enter 673833 KHz in the frequency box.
Channel 50 - Frequency 706 - manually enter 705833 KHz in the frequency box.
Channel 49 - Frequency 698 - manually enter 697833 KHz in the frequency box.

UHF Channel 52 has no offset - the digtal services on this channel are the only ones Prog DVB finds with out manual intervention.

I am sure some of the other main UK DVB-T stations will have this offset but I can't find a list on the internet.

I have now gone from a channel list of ony 6 stations to a list in excess of 70.


Now running ProgDVB 5.12.6 which is much more stable than 5.12.3 and with a full list of channels

Mainly, this is a matter of suitable transponder lists.

Get valid parameters from your TV provider's web pages.
Use the editor.
Study existing ones, to learn about the (quite simple) structure.
Edit one, that's as close as possible to your needs.
Let it have a valid and unique name, inside and outside.
Test it.
