i'm fairly new to dvb on pc's.
i'm running a Terratec Cinergy C PCI with CI-module and CONAX card;
all channels on my cable-network are scrambled.

With Terratec software everything is working fine.

i did manual transponder-scan in ProgDVB, all channels where found,
but do not get a picture, signal level and quality is ok.

when navigating to the CAM menu-item, it says "waiting ..."

is there any known problem with the CI provided by Terratec ?

tried with both, 5.14.8 and 4.90.8 on XP/SP2

Please provide full details on driver and ProgDVB device used, to allow Prog or others to help you.

BTW, is there any unscrambled DVB signal on your cable, and if it just was a radio station, an announcement / welcome still picture or alike?
If so, you might at least find out, if the descrambling fails, or if perhaps your audio / video codecs don't work in ProgDVB.

To find out, just use the original software without that subscriber card.
And vice versa, try to make an .mpg recording in ProgDVB and play back in the Terratec soft. ProgDVB can record fine even without a codec, but not without working descrambling.

there are no unscrambled tv-channels in my network at all
everything is Conax-based, even the free tv-channels.

Radio is working perfectly with ProgDVB; hence radio-channels are not scrambled.

i'm running on BDA-driver 1.1.0.301 from Terratec.

as soon as i'm at home, i will try to record something and see if playback works.

will it work to do a recording without the Conax-card ?

Should not, as either you won't record anything, then resulting in a zero byte file, or you would record scrambled streams, that won't play later on.

Decryption at playback time is not implemented with common DVB applications, as the necessary keys are subject to changes at any time.
So any new ones are not supposed to work at file playback time. This for, there's not even an existing interface in any legal software, to decrypt during playback.
Keys used would else theoretically have to be stored along with the file, but as you may know, they aren't available for storage (nor even display) in any legal way.


So you should be able to find a difference this way.
Decryption working gives a working recording, even if your video codec does not work in ProgDVB.

You can also disable MPEG2 decoding and still record well, as long as the decryption is OK.

This card can be terratec or azurewave. try both mode in settings->device options.

ProgDVB 5.14.8

Settings -> Device Options -> Terratec --> Not Working
Settings -> Device Options -> AzureWave --> Not Working

to my understanding, it has to be related to CI.
what else should i try to naildown the problem ?

i did some recordings, all are Zero-bytes.
