Is there any chance to add a keyboard command to fine adjust the aspect ratio of the screen?. Sometimes, some channels show some black bars at the sides.
A fine free adjustment +/- of horizontal and vertical stretch/zoom (like DVBViewer Pro does) will be a good addition.

AR control is a quite complex issue, and there are a lot of chances for logically wrong patches.

A zoom function should be the very last step. Before every other procedure must be correct.

We have input signals of 4:3 or 16:9.
A third resolution, non standard, is a British compromise, that always comes with small letterboxed areas up and down, but mathematically is pure 4:3, though the relatively small letterbox allows to stretch on 4:3 or wide screens with not too much losses.

Both ARs normally are anamorphic, as normal DVB (or DVD) does not allow the theoretical square pixel PAL resolution of 768x576 (like my FAST AVMaster produces it). Instead we may have 720/704/544/528/480/352x576, at least, each may then be 4:3 or 16:9, originally letter boxed or not.
Then, a non-wide computer screen may have 4:3 or 5:4 square pixels, that would have to be rendered.
And a wide panel may have 16:9 or 16:10 or 15:9 square pixels, normally.

So far, from the strictly logical point of view, all this could be done strictly logical.

Now the big question is, do customers want to allow black borders but perfect AR, or do they want to stretch away black borders, linear or even adaptive.
But such a stretching OR zooming feature MUST NOT interfere with the other switching, it had to work for the display only and to be done for 4.3 and 16:9 input separately.
Plus, a temporal corrective switch may be necessary for input signals with a wrong AR flag. This one not as an option, but only as a GUI component (button), or better even available from OSD and context menu.

Main problem on all this is, many codecs already come with their own "intelligence", video (overlay) drivers as well, including stupid theatre mode or special FullScreen resolutions. Together with renderers and also MS depending limited and often anamorphic screen resolution selection, you can easily run into nasty trouble.
Patch on the wrong end, ruin even more...

Try to play DVB .mpg on WMP, you'll get egg heads of any kind you can think of. This stupid player would indeed prefer 768x576 for PAL SD, and it gives black borders aside, on a screen with a perfectly correct native reso...

Obviously Prog tried to rebuild AR controls again and again, but..
...to do it perfect is almost impossible.

1. I am not plan add this to 4.x becuase not can change 4.x interface.
