Hi, I've recently downloaded the latest software (version 5.12.04) and for the most part I think it's great. One small problem though is the memory this program uses. When I start up memory use is low but this increases over time untill the program crashes, I've seen it's memory use in excess of 1.3GB at times which is obviously not right. I have disabled time shift to RAM and have the hard drive selected and have no plugins installed. Any suggestions? My specs below>>>
ProgDVB Ver 5.12.04
OS - Windows XP inc all Ms updates
Tuner - Freecom USB DVB-T
CPU - Intel Core2 Duo E6550
RAM - 2GB
HD - 500GB
MB - MSI P35

I have the exact same problem. I tried its scheduled recording only to find it only recorded about 4 minutes and then crashed due to insufficient memory. At the time I checked up on it, ProgDVB used over 2GB and was crashed.
RAM is filled up progdvb latest version crashes (Vista 32)
#5Progdvb starts properly; ram, in about 20 minutes full. Progdvb closes. Version 5.12.06. Vista 32

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my problem. I did as Prog suggested and the problem still occured. For information the memory usages increases slowly over a period of 30mins or so before it gets to around 1GB plus. I've posted a screenshot below>>>

Prog, I've just tried it without the skin and the same thing happens. Have a look at the screenshot to see the error occuring>>

@Prog, @Juergen,
the effect of the device on the problem is more complex:
When I start ProgDVB with the device already disabled in the session before, it uses 35.5 MB of memory with no change over time.
If I then start the device 'SkyStar 2 TV PCI', it uses 57 MB of memory with again no change over time.
If I then select a channel, it uses about 90 MB and starts allocating additional 1-2 MB every second.
If I then disable the device, it frees about 30 MB, but keeps on allocating 1-2 MB per second.
The constant allocation of memory leads to a crash of the program after about 15 minutes, when the amount of allocated memory approaches 1 GB, which is the size of the installed RAM. As I don't use a swapfile (due to use of CF cards instead of HDD) this corresponds to the available memory.
I have no plugins or skins enabled.
Do you need further information to approach the problem?

Did you disable timeshift at install time?
That amount of memory usage per second points towards timeshift in RAM...
EPG, TXT or similar won't give that much.
Besides, even if timeshift was set to file, perhaps some extra buffering for writing to that flash memory may eat your RAM, possibly caused by exceeding pratical writing speed. This might depend on the driver for it and OS routines..
Deactivating the device does not always result in stopping it physically. This also depends on drivers.

Very similar to Daunman in that it increases at the same rate. Juergen, I disabled the timeshift feature after installation.

Same problem here. I could get the amount of ram usage stabilized by having the display output only to tv window instead of the normal window.
Pretty wierd.
I use sysinternals to look at the memory usage. Also there are continue page faults.
