i have a nexus card and a SS2, what is the best way to control my Stab120 rotor, could i use the usal with progdvb?

BTW, AFAIK the Stab uses power supply from the receiver's LNB supply.
This for it may be making more sense, to connect it to the Nexus, as that's got a bit more powerful DC supply.

No card is better or worse in general, both have their benefits and limitations, like any hardware in the world. Depends on your wishes and needs...
You shuld have thought about this before purchase, normally...
Normally you can use both at the same time, but in your case you have to decide, which one will move the dish, of course.

Don't change LNB cables with PC or receiver powered up!

What about the usals protocol?Have you tried it?Does it work?

Not personally, sorry. No such hardware here.

And Prog told, more tests were required. Don't know if they are ready with this now.
But you may feel free to test as well.
Normally things should work, basically, as the technical standards - like controls, timings and such - are public.
But occasionally there may also occur hardware specific issues, you can never know...

Since the ProdDVB 4.80 I use my TT 2300S to drive my STAB120 in USALS mode without any problem, very easy to setup and stable, before I used the DiSeQC 1.2 mode coming with ProgDVB since one year ago, but with setup not so easy (position pre adjusted using USALS receiver)

Could you explain how i could do?

For SS2 best choise drivers 4.2.8 and patch and utility from MiBi 1.6 work 100%

In the old forum, I have explain how to setup the nativ DiSeQC 1.2 (without any plugin), the USALS is very similar, except that you have to define, in more, your latitude and longitude for your location. In this thread :

Hi,

i have a STAB120. Never got it running with USALS.
I adjusted manually either with kvadiseq or with the builtin
positioner tools of progdvb.

It would be much nicer to use USALS but there is no
manual.
