I wanted to view or even file my old camcorder cassettes on my PC. The Satbox was recomended ,Iwas told Icould plug the cam into the Satbox and away we go .That doesn`t seem to work . the uSB port is good the cables from camcorder to satbox are good ,but my PC doesn`t want to recognise the hardware or after CDinstalation has no option for external viewing ( or I couldn`t find it)My Pc is top, dualcore 1,8 Ghrtz
This should also work without Tv card???

To stay ProgDVB related, look at the modules / plugins section:
"Receiving video from analog input"

However, ProgDVB is made for DVB, video capture normally is done by video processing / editing software, like e.g. VirtualDubMod
And of course the original software bundle from a manufacturer should be able, to handle all HW features, or at least lead you towards available solutions, from my personal point of view...

BTW, as you don't want TV, why did you go for a DVB card, instead of a normal video capturer? Tuner packs and remotes are not available for free, that amount of money could instead have been invested in possibly better grabber hardware...

BTW, look for the tech forums at tinxi.com, they claim to be a Europe exclusive distributor of Geniatech.
