hello

i have tried to use progdvb in Windows Vista (32 bit), But i there is a weird problem. When i try to scan channels it doesn't find much channels.

- when i click the lock button it shows a good signal level (70-80-90%) and a signal quality of 100% so far everything is ok, But when i click the scan button it doesn't find any channel.

P.S. in Windows XP i can use the same hardware and same version of progdvb without any problem

Now what, not much or none at all?
Technically, this makes a really big difference...

Let people know about the DVB device and driver.
If it uses a BDA driver, you may have to check device options.

Inform people about LNB(s) and position(s), switches and alike.

And mention the ProgDVB version(s) tested, precisely.

Perhaps create a helpful signature.
People aren't supposed to re-read or remember all your previous postings, to get an idea.

This really a big issue for ProgDVB on Vista32,
Channels on some TPs can't be searched out (signal can be locked).

The only workaround for this is to tune onto a good channel, then go to it's "channel properties", then manually update the frequency/SR to that TP, then click "Apply", then channels from that TP will be out in the channel list.

BIG ISSUE! BIG ISSUE! BIG ISSUE!!

(this happens when i try to scan manually channels, it happens on channels which have a sr lower then 22500 ksps.)

Windows Vista (32bit)
Pinnacle PCTV 450e DVB-S USB box
driver version 1.0.2.4 (BDA driver)

no switch
sattelite at 42.0 West
And mention the ProgDVB version(s) tested, precisely.

latest version of progdvb 5.16 (also tried different versions of ProgDvb)

On the German pages of pinnaclesys, the deivises don't have numbers.
So, could you perhaps point us to the correct page for technical specs?

What minimum symbol rate is specified for that device?

this is the driver page
http://cdn.pinnaclesys.com/SupportFiles ... mePCTV.htm

a direct link to the driver
http://cdn.pinnaclesys.com/SupportFiles ... a32_64.zip

i coudn't find a page with technical information about the device.
What minimum symbol rate is specified for that device
where can i see that?

P.S. in windows xp i was able to watch all channels with a starting symbolrate of 2050 ksps up to 30000 ksps.

As long, as you don't know how, please don't use BBCode here.

You did mix things up completely, and I just had to correct several misleading things, like wrong quotes on what I never said.

And don't try to change colours, if that's not important for the message's content.

However,
P.S. in windows xp i was able to watch all channels with a starting symbolrate of 2050 ksps up to 30000 ksps.
You should have mentioned that in the beginning.
So the whole issue must be driver related, no more, no less.
Not ProgDVB related.
