Hi
I hope you can help.
I am using a registered progdvb V6.01.01
using XP PRO on a T7400 dual core laptop with 2Gbytes of RAM.
I keep getting a system Accessviolationexception error when I
attempt to view or record from a cheap USB DVB-S box.
it is using an LME DVBS driver V1.26 (API 1.29 ?)
I seem to get periods of up to several days without the error
and other periods when the error happens every time.
I am using ProgDVB to mainly record BBCHD on Freesat.
however the error does occur on other channels also.
I had assumed that you would be sent the microsoft error reports
if there is further info that you need I can send it.
THANK YOU
accessviolation crash
#3Hi
Thanks for your quick reply
The problem has occured at varying times with all of the V6 releases
I also did have the problem with V5 (during trial period)
I hoped that the intermittant problem would not occur with version 6
unfortunately it does !!
I am using CoreAVC Profesional edition codec 1.7.0.0
plus other nero8 decoders?
what exactly do you mean when you say remove plugins?
I bought the USB DVB-S box on ebay because the seller said that it
would work with prog dvb, the LME driver came with it
many thanks

Re: accessviolation crash
#4IF you have installed any extra plugins for special purposes, remove those to compare.deano wrote:what exactly do you mean when you say remove plugins?
Perhaps try to find a new driver from the manufacturer.I bought the USB DVB-S box on ebay because the seller said that it

Do you have your machine running continuously or only send it to some deep sleep mode, instead of rebooting every day or two?
If so, think about watching RAM and swap file usage occasionally.

I do re-boot the pc quite regularly,
The laptop has 2Gb of RAM
the usage is usually less than 1GB
even when the crash occurs.
I while back, I did find a link to the LME
website but unfortunately I now cant find it.
LME was an acronym for the company name I think
thanks again

I have unticked the PID recorder
and Progmedia server modules
and it has not crashed yet (it has been
playing BBC HD for about 45 minutes)
(Although sometimes the problem
does not occur)
do you think it is a usb driver problem?

Possibly...
In such a case, all component drivers may matter, the whole way from tuner frontend to the mainboard chipset, plus all networking related stuff.
What USB(2) controller chip do you find in your system control ->device manager?
BTW, let show by connection. Anything else connected to the same host?
