Hello,
I`m looking for a tv-software for my DVBT-Stick and somebody recommended ProgDVB to me. I downloaded the ProgDVB Shareware Version (the 64Bit Version hopefully matches with my Windows 10) and did a channel search, succesfully, a lot of channels were found. But if I click on a channel, I always get an "Error connection of video renderer ... stream type: mpeg2". What is the problem ? Do I have to download some video-codec stuff or mpeg2 licences ? I`m willing to pay for the software but I neither need to become a codec-specialist nore I want to read all the stuff in this forum. I only want to buy a working tv-software.
Thank you for your help
friendly regards
Re: Error connection of video renderer ... stream type: mpeg
#2Try select other codec in Options->Video->Codecs->Mpeg2.
x64 version request x64 codecs. Try install x64 LAV or some other.

#3Hello dear Prog,
thank you for helping me!
Before I touch this time-wasting stuff again first something I like to verify:
If I buy the ProgDVB software I get a product which can`t receive standard dvbt channels? I have to pay money and then I have to spent time to learn how I get this stuff working ? I can`t read some warnings on this page, correct me if I`m wrong ? I can`t believe that ! We are talking about a tv-software in 2016 ! Does anybody agree with this statement or am I a fool ?
friendly regards

ps: It feels like you buy a car and afterwards you recognize that there`s no engine in it and you are told that this is absolutely ok.
The field Options->Video->Codecs->Mpeg2 is empty. If I select the first available option the software crashes immediately and you have to kill it with the task-manager ... no comment

Re: Error connection of video renderer ... stream type: mpeg
#4Sorry for this problem. x32 more simple for installation because more codecs in system. I am recommend try x32 at first.
Codecs problem is common problem
This is too expensive for any software. For example PowerDVD have all codecs and price 100$. What price of windows? But windows not have mpeg2 codecs in modern versions (after win7).
But this is very simple on users side. For example you can install LAV (x32 or x64) and select codecs in ProgDVB options (if ProgDVB not select that automatic).
