FYI, I had the same problem (black screen sometimes, needed to go in to Options and click OK to reset). I've had this problem for a very long time.

Removing empgpdmx.ax has fixed the problem for me also.

I have the same problem - the video is not being deinterlaced when using the Elecard MPEG-2 decoder. If I switch to the Cyberlink decoder, it works.
