Please start ProgDVB with /Debug key and look Debug->Filter manager->Packet lost. This value must be stable if good signal level.

Hello Prog,

Started in debug mode, opened Filter manager status but don't see "packet lost"
There is a window "Packet errors" it shows 2650 packets dropped on total traffic 5000 mbytes and 0 CRC errors.

Signal quality is at 88% ( "DVBworld gauge"), on a Skystar2 this will be around 75% .

Currently I set record to TS file with 100 MB split and recording on BBC HD. I hope I can capture the problem this way.

Hello Prog,

Using the split option in recorded files I now have a TS file from the moment that the "progdvbnet.exe encountered.." error occurred.
It is 56 MB and can be downloaded from
http://rapidshare.com/files/176129421/B ... 53.ts.html

When playing with DVBprog 6.02 it aborts at this point. When played with MPC or PowerDVD it plays up to the end of the recording.

I hope this can give you some insight on what the problem is.
Let me know if you need more data or info.

When I change channels in ProgDVB, at one point, the same channel is used for every channel I choose. For instance, I am watching channel 1, then I change to channel 2, so I am watching channel 2. But at one point, if I change to channel 4, I still have channel 2 on screen, and then, if I choose channel 7, I still have channel 2, and if I go back to channel 1, I still have channel 2 on screen. The only way to solve the problem is restarting ProgDVB

6.03 Crashes

#278
Hi,
I have just downloaded 6.03 Professional and when I run the program it crashes under Windows XP SP3.
I have had to go back to 6.02.03 which is running perfectly.

Cheers,

What DVB card or source type?

report on 6.03

@Dare2001:

I just installed 6.03 on my XP SP3 and it does run OK. Receiver used over here is DVBworld DVB-S2 USB2.0

@Prog: thanks for unblocking my HW ID.
Version 6.03 behaviour on BBC HD is the same as 6.02.03, after a while the error message "Progdvbnet.exe encounters problems and needs to close" comes again. When I move this window aside, Progdvb just continues to run and record.

This must be something related to subtitles on BBC HD because since my upgrade from 5.15.1 to 6.xx I do not see .srt files being created on BBC HD anymore.
Or is absence of .srt a hidden option in progdvb.ini ?

On other BBC SD channels all Progdvb versions do show subs and create .srt files.

Can anyone else test subs on BBC HD?

Yes, only on BBC HD this happens but this is the only FTA HD channel I can receive that has subs.
Astra HD demo, Arte HD, Anixe HD, M2 HD, Luxe TV HD and MelodyZenTv HD don't have subs. ITV is sending HD at this moment but subs are grayed out.

Is there a way to let ProgDVB ignore subs completely ? ( just to test)

You can remove subtitle from channel propetres.

Hello,

From time to time, ProgDVB crashes. I am watching a TV program, full-screen, and after a few minutes or hours, I get an error message that pops up and says "ProgDVB stopped functionning". Then I click "OK", and I get a blue screen that forces me to hit the "Reset" button on my PC to keep going. I don't know how to debug it. This is the information I can give you on my system: I use ProgDVB Standard 6.03 on Vista, I use the Microsoft MPEG-2 codecs. If you need more info, please let me know. Thanks.
