At least over here, both NTSC relevant device settings now are executed at start time properly.

Don't have original NTSC signals here, but I'm testing with overlay frame, that's changing to NTSC525 frame format then, as expected. And the SS21 TV out goes to 60Hz and NTSC color (for OSD at least).

Now we need reports from original NTSC525/60 users, to confirm.
Please post your results here, good or bad.
And mail to Prog, if startup problem still exists for you.

However, all other bugs still exist, like the playback slider issue since after 4.75.

I have the exact same behaviour over here.

Hauppauge Nexus (TT1 in hard mode) NTSC, Canada
When I start it (tried Prog 4.79.4 & 4.80.3 with Intel P4 patch) I get no video. Then I go to «Device options» and click OK, then video goes on.

Also, when switching channels, sometimes video goes off... sometimes comes back simply with a couple of channel changes but sometimes I have to restart Prog...

I am available to perform some tests.

Old versions didn't have that bug, but I had issues with the channel scan (missing channels) that is now fixed with 4.79+ :)

Best Regards,
Sly

After launching ProgDVB no video from within application and no video using composite video out. When ProgDVB is opened, the OSD is displayed for a few seconds but picture is black. The audio is played immediately when ProgDVB is opened.

Temp Fix: Open Device Options and change no options and click OK produces video immediately in both application and on composite video out. When OK is pressed, video and OSD display immediately.

If you need any additional details, please contact me. I would be more than happy to assist in testing to get this problem fixed.

Excuse me, but...
engineer wrote:Mode: S-Video out

The Nexus 2.2 does not have the J2 expansion port, so there's no S-Video available from that card.

However, if you're using NTSC signals, try to set Stardard: NTSC (instead of Auto).

Why did you disable software scaling?

Setting Standart to NTSC does give video when ProgDVB is opened. If it is set to Auto when ProgDVB is opened then no video is displayed unless you select device options and press ok.

You are correct, the Nexus 2.2 does not have S-Video out. I tested ProgDVB with the 4 different Modes. The composite video out on the Nexus 2.2 displays video on all of the settings except "No video out, no RGB out". I have now set the correct settings of "Video out, no RGB out"

I had software scaling off for testing and forgot to reenable it. It is now enabled.

After correcting the video out and software scaling, I tested ProgDVB with "Auto" and on startup it gives no video. After settings it to "NTSC", it works on startup.

Well, at least that's some progress.
Obviously also the Auto function needs some help at startup, some day.

No idea, how many people can receive PAL and NTSC at the same time, I don't.

But even then, there's some kind of dirty fix, copy ProgDVB into another folder, use one for PAL and the other for NTSC.
Everything else than the Options.ini may be completely identical (including the external placed record folders).

This problem seems to have surfaced up again in versions after 4.84. TT Premium in HW mode. The way to get past it for now is to go to Settings -> Audio & Video and click OK.

#23
That's strange, here under Win98SE it's the device options instead, that I have to open and close, to get overlay or surface picture on the PC screen.
A/V won't help.
