If you use BDA driver then check in ProgDVB.
1. Settings->device list -> must selected bda.device
2. settings->device options must seleced technotrend.
I have 3200 card and and not have any problem with BDA driver.
PS: Also possible your diseq device not work with your DVB card.

I have setr like you write.
- and it looks like the motor can work - but so far I have not added any positions ( see below)
got one crash so far, but could be a one-time-vista "thing"
Are there any way to move the motor in larger steps than 1?
Had to reset the Motech, and then it moved as far east as possible.
Have tried the Autotuning function, but have still not figured out totally how it works.
IF this works I must say it looks very good so far !!
The motor control menues looks VERY good, also the blind scan makes me drool..

Will have to move to straight south, ( hotbird) (one step at the time, takes some time, have something like 999 steps in each direction) before I can get any further.
I add teh crash report from Vista, but lets see first when all is set up properly how it goes before using any strenght in that. ( I pressed scan maybe too fast?)

After a "million" one-steps I succeded in finding Hispasat- now that I was far out in west anyway. Stored the position, and began to look for Hotbird.
After haveing found my old set-top box and conected it to the second output from the LNB I succeded. ( as a slave so to say)
I must say the level meters don´t work when using the motor controls.
So to make them show signals you have to know you are on a sat-postiton, and change frequency - kind of reset the level meters and then they work.
So it is a little like looking for a needle in a heystack, and the reason I tried the Fastsatfinder...
Then I asked the motor to go to position Hispasat, that worked fine and also back to Hotbird. ( hotbird is south here)
So far so good!!
BUT:
Still I had no picture on ProgDVB so I decided to scan for channels but that makes the motor drive against east in some uncontrolled steps and all stored positions (Hispasat and Hotbird) are forgotten.
My theory is the Motech box get some disecqs commands during the channel scan similar to "move east"
It´s really a pitty be course it looks fantastic good, but something goes wrong somewhere.
What kind of motor is it programmed for? A Usals motor or HH moter uses a lot of power, how will the PC react to that? ( 400mA in the start moment and when running aprox. 100mA as far as I know...)
I have a another question: if I mark "positioner" in "settings"/ "diseqc and providers" and add first Hispasat and later Hotbird it is like Hotbird is under Hispasat, just like in explorer ( a tree) - understand?
If I use the list ( in LNB settings) and add all sat positions I would like to add they all ends under the first stored position, in this case Hispasat.
Have I misunderstood something in the set-up?
Can´t find anything about it in the manual, if I overlooked something then I am sorry.
I can send a screen dump if you like... but how?

#20I wrote to Technotrend last week, and they send this link, and tild me to examine it, has something to do with BDA drivers working with vista and Diseqc, but I really am not sure what to do with it... maybe it´s drivers or something?
You properly know better than I do..
http://technotrend-online.com/download/ ... .10.18.zip
any idea?
Juergen: a screendump will follow later this evening.

Yes, that's technotrend drivers. For Win2000 and XP...
That zshare download only gives a falsely named ZIP style file (progdvb.docx) with all XML stuff inside.
WTF ???
A screen shot would be aspected to be in a common picture format like .jpg
Perhaps you have used some nasty new Word 2007 format, but surely I will not go for that expensive and for me completely useless office "solution".
Nor would I accept original MS Word format .doc from unknown sources...
For quick, easy and free picture handling look for IrfanView, for example.

Word nowadays produces XML based documents, that come in a ZIP style container. I've usesd IZArc to peep into that.
IrfanView is a pretty good freeware picture viewer and basic editor.
Opens most picture file types, writes many of them.
Fast and handy, reliable and with low ressource consumption.
http://www.irfanview.com/
Also a bunch of plugins available, tons of those for free.
I am using it as default.
No need to wait for one of the dinosaur size popular and expensive packets to open in SloMo...

Didn´t see your last post about it, hope you can use the JPG
I tried Ulead photoimpact copy and paste and save as *.jpg...
And to my surprize it worked
The first thing that worked on this PC without complications.. F... Vista..
Uleadphotoimpact was installed on this Pc when I bought it, and also be course, when I went to the download page of IrfanView, tons of spam sites opened, Free Poker sites and all that s... so no way I am gonna download it and get spammed or what´s worse.. Really I´m sorry..
Another thing: why on earth should I send virus or other stuff, when I´m trying to get some help
If you like you could get my full identity, but not disposed on the board, you know, the net is full of idiots!!

Of course I can open JPG pictures.
And since the days of Internet Explorer 5.0, all windows users can, by default.
Well, that picture just got downsized to 750 x 550 pixels, this for details are pretty low.
Nevermind, the message comes over.
Honestly, I don't have the faintest idea, what sorting criteria are used in that positions listing, like insertion time, storage order, name or ini file name / azimuth or whatever else..Only Prog can tell...
No, I don't suspect you to spread malware in any way, but as we know, many computers are infected and misused, whilst the owners don't even have an idea...
The irfanview link I posted leads directly to the original and completely clean page, no popups or anything else there. Even looked into the HTML code of that page, nothing unusual at all.
I mentioned this viewer, as it claims to be working under Vista.
There are a lot of download pages mentioned there, of those I always prefer tucows. Another nice and clean site...
Some of the others indeed may be nasty and frequently changing behaviour without notice, like silly girls or greedy business men...
It may be a real problem, to host such popular freeware and somehow refinance the traffic.
But possibly YOU may have something wrong on your system, either not used the link but searched around it, or your hosts file is corrupted, or something even worse happened. Or perhaps your provider does some nasty filtering, like a man-in-the-middle-attack...

I have tried all possible set-ups and several softwares, all have problems with BDA drivers. ( that´s what I think is the problem)
Could be the Motech device is the problem, but what motor controll to use then?
is the solution to dump Vista? WDM works perfect with XP, only HDTV missing, but possible to live without it...
or dump the PC in general, and start up the old 2003 PC again where everything worked fine, little slow maybe, but it worked...
any suggestions are welcome....
#29
Well, Prog placed his e-mail address to the bottom of each page here.
And as long as you have a second PC available, it may be a pretty good idea, to do all the testing on it, until having found a perfect solution.
Also possible, to have more than one OS on a computer, like over here, where my boot manager and multi partition disk allows to chose from DOS/Win98SE, Win2000, XP and up to three Linuxes ATM.
Just my personal opinion, both BDA and Vista are to be called early pre-beta state proprietary crap...
But we can't force the industry, to keep well working older models up and running forever

Have everything running perfectly on the old PC sorry to mention here, but Mythater works perfect on that PC, BUT again WDM drivers and XP...Juergen wrote:Well, Prog placed his e-mail address to the bottom of each page here.

I have still not found out - or even tried to - to dual boot on the new PC.
Have enough problems allready

I had the opinion that it was not smart to write Prog directly, I mean if everybody do that he would be swimming in mails.. so it was only to be a little polite here:)
...understood : on other boards you actually get killed if you write to the programmer directly... !!
Today I deleted all programs, that have ever had anything to do with DVB and installed ProgDVB from scratz again, and till now (two positions found) it looks like it works better, BUT still have the strange listings of positions, and I really can´t see the logic in the position- set-up.
Will write Saar later when I have tried a few more things.
I do agree with all your thoughst about Vista and BDA drivers, but from reading about the problems in downgrading to XP, I prefer to do that only as a last possibility.
I have absolutely no experiences in dual boot nor Linux and therefore I fear I will have too many loose ends if beginning to mess with that too..
