Reading on the Web , seems that cloudfront streams have this issue but i have same problem also with another channels.. I've tested also directly in VLC and there is same switching of resolution .
Here is a Free Music List and You can try with Trace channels or Stingray for example that are native in 1920x1080 but starts in Low Resolution and switching to HD or FHD after ( same issue in VLC for Windows ) . If you need i have also A Distro List

I Think that is a VLC Issue because i've tested in KMplayer and starts directly in FHD.

I've used ProgDVB engine for years and i Love it, i've changed Engine only because the orginal engine ramains in Low resolution in a lot of channels and not change automatic like Lib VLC ( sometimes not streams )

This issue there is also in Android, same channels streams in SD and changing engine not solve the problem . I've tested also another Android App that use Exo Player and stream directly in HD or FHD. Changing Preferred player in Exo in ProgTV Android seems not solve the problem.

I've asked for viewing resolution in OSD also in lib VLC for this reason. If You need i can test in Windows and Android any change

Where i can find this settings ? If you mean Streams settings in Playback if I launch program with ProgDVB Engine appears the list of possible streams but selecting 1280x1024 or 1920x1080 ProgDVB Engine continues to stream in Low Quality.

Seems that the problem is in multiresolution streams. Lib VLC starts in lower 640x360 and pass in 2-3 seconds in higher resolution HD or FHD. ProgDVB Engine start in low quality and not switching ti higher and if selected manually nothing changes..

Подтверждаю. Да. ПрогЭнджин не переключает на HD разрешение, а LibVLC переключает через 3 секунды.

I've just tested ProgDVB7.67.4b.x64 Pre Release with progDVB engine and seems working now, starting directly in HD or FHD..

Now i've not time to test but seems that some channels not streams and when importing a new list there's no catetegories division when importing. ( if updating ProgDVB freom older versions, the old lists mantains categories but new lists import all channels without categories)

Tomorrow i check better

I use Free IPTV lists all over the world. So i use Tv Channels and not musics channels or radio channels. There are free lists like Pluto, Roku, etc etc that have categories like Music ( with all music channels ) or Countries ( divided for country ), entertainment, sport, etc etc and every category have internally the channels related

Now when in Settings i add a new list like Pluto.... All channels are imported togheteher, without category ( in this case Countries )

Folders now works... HLS when modify you write here and i can test it for you..

The only annoying situation is the crash of program in a lot of channels with New ProgDVB Engine, so momentarily i will use or old version or Lib VLC engine
