hello,
first of all, progdvb is great programm, thx. it always worked fine with my old budget card...
now i have bought the new usb device from technotrend S2-3650CI - unfortunately all HD channels (SAT1HD, PRO7HD, ANIXE HD...) are showing a blank screen.
i have tried many versions: 4.85.3 + 5.09.2 also elecard editions with installed EAVC plugin (only evaluation) - always the same, a blank screen.
runnig the elecard edition, i always get below mentioned error message, if i try to watch an HD-channel:
"Pin connect error ! Source -> Elecard_Audio_Decoder.In"
i have no codec pack installed (like kaza-lite or something..) but power-dvd 7.3
running XP or Vista
with the TT-mediacenter (which is full of bugs) I can watch all these HD-channels
please help
thx

according to the main page it should be possible to watch HDTV with progDVB e-edition. so it would be fine to get some support here...
after installing k-lite codec pack, now it works. but the resolution is 4:3 instead of 16:9
all other channels (sd) shows the correct resolution
what can i do?
thx

I also had the same error issue, but it didn't disappear when I installed K-lite. Now it might be because I should have k-lite uninstall some of the codecs or take over the function of others, but I have things set up the way I like.Ron Burgundy wrote:according to the main page it should be possible to watch HDTV with progDVB e-edition. so it would be fine to get some support here...![]()

I do like the program, but I don't like that it I can get either audio or video with the HD channels, but not at the same time.

I'd also like to have some directions as to how to set the codecs in ProgDVB in order to watch MPEG4 HD channels. I'm using ProgDVB 5 Pro latest version and installed the trial version of the Elecard AVC plugin for progDVB, but whenever I tune to a HD channel I get the same error mentioned by Ron: ""Pin connect error ! Source -> Elecard_Audio_Decoder.In" . I tried several settings but none worked, so I guess I'd use some help from the program's author or some experienced user. My PC Runs Windows XP Pro SP2 and the DVB card is the Skystar2 PCI version.
Thanks.
Thanks.

After selecting the install path, you get a window "Choose Components".
There you'll find "MPEG-2 Decoder" as the last entry, and it should already be selected.
Just tested on 4.88.6(w9x) a minute ago.
But there's also another way, to do this later on:
In Filters subfolder you will find a file 'register.bat'.
Look into it with your editor, to try and understand.
There's a similar one for unregistering.
This works for almost any codec (or even DLL).
Depending on the Windows version, you may have to take care of paths (even for the regsvr32), and / or put the .bat and the .ax into the same folder.
Windows basics...
After registering a codec, you should check it's properties / internal settings, and perhaps think about building a (custom) graph, suiting your system. For both you should have a short suitable recording at hand (which can even be made without working codecs).
