Progdvb and Arcsoft H.264 video decoder

#1
Hi, I have progdvb 5.14 shareware version for testing some HD (AVC/H.264) codecs.

Since I don't have a very powerful CPU, most of them overload it causing slow frames.
The best for my computer is the 'Arcsoft AVC video decoder' (with directx acceleration) but Progdvb seems not to recognize it as a decoder.
The 'pin connect error' message is shown and then crash.

Does anyone knows how to do it work , or if any Progdvb version can handle with it ?

Thanks

try using powerdvd8 h264/AVC decoder, it has hardware acceleration too. ~17% CPU usage to view 1080i h264 program.

Need to install PowerDVD8 first..
Windows 7, 64-bit.
Twinhan AD-SP400(1041) DVB-S2.
KNC1 DVB-S2.
Technotrend S2300 Premium DVB-S.
Technotrend C1500 DVB-C.
Technotrend DVB-T TV-stick.
ATI 4550.
Asus Xonar HDAV1.3 Deluxe.
Creative S750 speaker system.
Latest ver.6 of ProgDVB Pro.

Have tried that decoder too, but don't seem to do any hardware acceleration since it drops a lot of frames and CPU usage is 100%, even activating the DxVA option of the decoder.

It's Arcsoft AVC decoder the only one that can do a good HD video acceleration using my ATI HD2400 video card.

Thanks anyway.

Other solution could be use a non integrated splitter like Haali media splitter. It this possible with Progdvb ?

Hi Nyolco,

I know it's relatively old post but did you maybe manage to make dxva work with the HD2400.
I have the same model and I tried a lot of things but cannot get it to work

Thanks,
Dame.
