OSD gone? Display artifact?

#1
The OSD has disappeared from the screen while I'm watching TV and using the volume up/down controls -- they used to be there. The channel list doesn't show either.

Have I switched something off? I'm using the MainConcept graph and Video Renderer (they seem to be the best combination for my setup).

Also, in the top-right corner of the screen there looks like 9 small opaque squares in a grid formation. What are they? and are they maybe related to the OSD not being visible?

Thanks :)

OSD works only with : vmr 9, vmr (needs Win XP) or progdvb renderer...

discussed since years !!!

come from the mainconcept (elecard) codec and will say you : the trial period of the codec is over ..buy it or use other codec -> viewtopic.php?t=604

so , next time please make a search or read around before posting !

Okay, thanks. I did run a few searches for information, but obviously didn't find what I was looking for.

I haven't had much time to get to know the codecs intimately (I'm reading up about VMR9 right now), so excuse some naivety.

For those of us who haven't been around here for years, I think it's alright to ask about something that's been discussed before -- if you know where to look and what to look for.
